In tournament action the lady gophers were defeated in 4 games by Temple: 25/19- 19/25- 6/25 - 11/25 Leading scorers with serves: Morgann Mercer with 5 points, Jocelynn Schwartz with 11 points, Sam Smith with 6 points 2 aces, Paige Guenther with 4 points and two aces, Katie Copp with 5 points. Leading in kills: Paige Guenther with 12 kills and Sam Smith with 7 kills. Morgann Mercer added 10 assists and Kelsey Seiler added 8 assists. Our first game we played great, we executed good fundamentals and had great communication. The second game we struggled some and to many unforced errors. The third and fourth games we fell apart. Temple played well and battled back and did the things they needed to do to win. I give them credit in not giving up and staying focused for each game. Gophers just couldn't recover when we were down and we seem to get on a role and then just have an unforced error and took us out our momentum.
